I LOVE the combination of grey eyes and jet black hair.

This is the definition of Male Beauty.

Balance, symmetry, angularity, CONTRAST.

The photo is very nice too. You obviously have talent, and you obviously were getting used to your camera at this point. But you obviously are getting on top of it.

I love the shirt he's wearing...It really pops. He reminds me of a mix between Jim Morrison, Johnny Depp, and Tim Burton...a little bit of James Marsden (Cyclops from X-men)

Amazing eyes. Can't stop looking at him

Sharpness is incredible, too. My poor camera can't achieve it.

Definetely less unsharp and contrast.

Truly, often times less is more.

This was one of the first of my shots with the 1Ds and it was much sharper than anything I'd ever used before - it was so much sharper than the 5D mainly, I think, due to it's weaker AA filter.
So I was kind of re-learning with this Adam stuff. I agree to an extent about the sharpening, but the contrast is just a matter of taste. I like it, some others do and some don't - I don't think anyone can globally say there is 'too much' contrast otherwse I would be weakening my vision to fit in with other's needs.
For example, I think you left a comment on the Helena Bonham Carter pic which expressed that it wasn't contrasty enough.
At the end of the day if you are paying me I will do what is required, but if not I will do what I like, Fair non?

Very true. There is no arguing taste, as Cartier-Bresson once said.

And, quite obviously, not all images are the same. So saying one is too contrasy and another is not is really not quite the benchmark to make one's argument, yeah?

I think there is a level at which someone says "that's a good picture" and "that's a lot of contrast." I think finding the balance in between makes a successful picture appeal more. If you don't desire that, that is fine.

My friend, it is not an argument that I making, I don't put stuff for critique or I would ask. If you don't like something there is no real reason to say it....other than to get your voice heard. I woouldn't dream of going to somebody elses pictures and telling them hoe I would like to see it.
It's probably better if yu don't look here in the future if you don't like my style.

And in return I won't go to your galleries.
Can't say fairer than that.

That's sorta like how I remember 2nd graders solving problems. "Don't come to my table and I won't come to yours." Surely, very mature.

I didn't see the Critique Discouraged. My apologies, mate. Next time, I'll read your mind.

i am not here to be abused by people so i would rather not have the sinking feeling every time I log in.
You wouldn't like it if I came to your table and pulled all your pdtures apart would you.
You are more than welcome to yoour opinions but I just don't want them to be vocalised on a space I am paying for.
I am sure by your arrogance that you will want the last word though.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

95101 In reply to andrewfphoto [2007-01-02 16:05:25 +0000 UTC]

Not particularly. But the irony of your last comment was that if I didn't say that, you're arrogance would have given you the last word?

I have nothing against you and your work. Please get off your stool. But I will respectfully avoid looking at your pictures, if that is the level of professionalism and artistic merit you desire.

Good day, sir.
