This is the follow up for the image I posted last week [link]It is really to show how w can judge an image differently when it is out of context - so you would maybe have thought Eugene was a sulky, angry young boy.....when in fact, the opposite is true. This IS Eugene, always laughing and smiling - he other image was just me asking him to pull an angry face....

Unfortunately, so many people automatically assume that a young Black man "must be" angry or have a bad attitude at all times... such a sad and antiquated point of view! Good commentary, as always. P.S. I thought his other photo was marvelous... you could tell he wanted to burst out laughing in spite of his pout!

Oh, bless your heart... isn't that the truth!!! This election was so personal to me, because I am finally seeing that most people (or at least a lot of them) really want to be set free from boundaries and borders and all the stupid old prejudices that have always been swallowed with a smile, and I'm ecstatic that we finally got it right! I heard a quote mentioned that there is nothing more powerful than an ideal whose time has come, and I think that sums up Obama perfectly. Yes, I believe he can & will bring a certain healing effect to the world.

He's an adorable little boy. I only just now saw the other picture. They are both wonderful.
I always try not to judge a person based on a picture. I am a mom and know how kids can be, both happy and angry and scared and all other emotions.
