I think i posted this before - he was my next door neighbour - this is a re-edit.

John is my ex next-door-neighbour -He moved out last June when his wife died. I, unfortuately, found her body when John had been brought back home from a long-term hospital stay.
The ambulance driver could get no reply from Patricia, so they rang my bell and asked if I had seen her. I hadn't for a few days, but notived the top floor bedroom window was open so offered to get my ladders and climb in and open the door to let them in. (John is blind and diabetic}. We all assumed Pat was out shopping or at a friends, but she was dead at the top of the stairs - John couldn't be allowed in the house and so after many hours sat outside his home of 23 years, the social services found him emergency accommodation.
The time a month earlier when I had gone in to pick John up after a fall, was the last time he set foot in there. Eerily, he was naked when i had to lift him, as was Patricia, and in exactly the same spot!
I tell this now as some kind of catharsis as it affected me very deeply at the time.
