Description This was very tricky to plan out and get the message across. I did wonder if my usual layout of “THE PLAN/PROBLEM” would work but I think it came out okay. The story is just too funny to pass up! Many thanks to for sharing the tale I never would have found out otherwise.

I just realized that my chibi England doesn’t really look like England without those eyebrows.

When WW2 began, Germany was on a roll conquering countries in Europe with one country, England, showing defiance. Other countries would join later with the alliance but at the time England kinda had to fight for his life in the “Battle of Britain”. As tough as Germany’s military and tactics were there was one ace card that England had… a rockin navy. So the Kriegsmarine (Germany’s navy) began placing mines in the English Channel to hinder the Royal Navy (England’s navy). The routine was to lay mines every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday without fail. England was able to figure out this schedule (British Intelligence you know) and minesweepers were sent out to clear the English Channel every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. Now what is interesting is that the Kriegsmarine and the Royal Navy figured out one another’s schedule concerning mine laying and minesweeping AND STILL CONTINUED THEIR ROUTINES. Back and forth they went putting the mines in, taking them back out and putting them back in again. I don’t think anything happened on Sunday so the process would repeat itself all over again. Both navy’s made their operations based on this schedule for when it was safe to cross the English Channel.

That alone is funny enough. The two find themselves dancing around each other in a stalemate until someone tripped… but then the other one took the fall. I think that’s right…?

What happened is Germany had a plan to make an invasion through the channel on a day when it would be clear. However… England forgot to send out the minesweepers the day before (having no clue about his mistake of course). So the Kriegsmarine go in ready for a great day when their ship(s) got sunk by their own mines. I am not sure if only one survived or just a few, but you can imagine how livid they were with the British. An officer gave them an earful on his astonishment and fury and how such carelessness wouldn’t have been permitted in their army.

England apologized and offered to give the rescued victim(s) the best treatment available until the war ended.

p.s. I hope I got my information right. I tried researching as much as I could for more details about this incident.

XD Wait, what?? Why would England offer the rescued victims treatment, though?? I THOUGHT THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A WAR! Where is the malice and sadism??

LOL. I'm not sure. It was England's fault that Germany got hurt... but isn't that suppose to happen? Yet it was an accident.

whatever, all I know is that it sure was funny

That Germany actually had the audacity to complain to the country they were at war with that their men got hurt is mind boggling. But that England would actually apologize for it is even more mind boggling.

I know! England messed up but Germany got hurt. Then England apologizes for letting their enemy get hurt. I'm like... what?

BY the way, a short correction (Nothing major). It was only a single ship that hit the mines, not an invasion. Apart from that though, its great!!
