Beautifully done! I saw the original of this painting by Albert Edelfelt a few years back in a huge Edelfelt exhibition in Ateneum in Helsinki!

One of the best works I've seen here. Lots of questions here...what is the relationship between teacher and student? Father and daughter? Husband and wife? Something else maybe? Their intensity and concentration on the music is amazing. Your execution is also fantastic...the skin colors, fabric folds, etc. This is what art is supposed to be!

oh that's gorgeous dude.. I will be following you from now on as I am getting into traditional oils a bit myself.. I'm not particularly a fan of board just yet, and I don't care much for how slippery it is, but I'm going to work on it anyways to try to control it.. did you work opaquely or thin?.. any particular palette?.. I enjoy the cool lights and warm shadow as it feels antiqued and aged a bit.. lovely drapery and elegant hands too..

Absolutely love all the angles in this, particularly with the woman's profile and all the finger. Everything goes together, kind of like a melody in itself. ClichΓ©, but true!
