Not necessarily. While some bounties may require the hunter to bring them in alive, other times the target may be wanted dead. And there are even some occasions where the contractor may want the target either dead or alive. In those cases, all that matters is that the job gets done.
But I guess that taking jobs where the target should be brought in alive would be best for Ranma and the girls, given that it would be more honorable for their targets' lives to be spared.

Again until shown otherwise Ranma 1/2 fighters seem to be top of the food chain "power level" wise on Mars so no surprise that Akane and Ukyo easily took these guys on without any sweat. Heh this song seems appropriate for the page

Thinking about it though this is an important encounter because with their memories still scrambled Akane and Ukyo still don't realize their untapped potential since beating up Kuno didn't really do anything so now they know more properly they can fight back and that will hopefully be important in any future encounters they may have.

Yes, Ranma and Co (sometimes referred to as the Nerima Wrecking Crew) are extremely powerful martial artists on Earth. However, I am planning to introduce rivals and villains who can rival them for power and ability. And of course, they need to worry about each other a lot.
This epic beat down certainly did open some doors for the girls. Wonder what else they'll discover when they explore.

When Akane punched out Kuno back at the brothel, it was mainly a reflexive response to him coming onto her. She noted that it felt good and natural, indicating that she was starting to rediscover her own strength.
This scene clearly shows that the girls' fighting skills were not removed from their memories. Instead, they seem to have been just suppressed, pushed to the back of their minds until now, where they feel threatened.
The girls saw the thugs as a threat, and it prompted them to fight back and rediscover their fighting skills. And later, they will realize that these skills will be invaluable to them, especially with regards to their future bounty hunting exploits.
