Since he laughed because of the fact that he didn't have to kill his mother once again I think it's okay for him to laugh
so I think it's not actually "Failure" or "Insanity" but rather "Relief", don't you agree?

It could very well be relief (and most probably is) but from the way Pinako is looking at him she is probably thinking: "He's finally lost it... I knew it would come to this. First the leg, then the arm, it wouldn't be too long until he lost his mind as well." At least, that was my first impression the moment he started laughing, but thinking back on it now it makes more sense that it would be relief.
