Happy Halloween 2006 everyone!This is my main image for this year, which depicts my character, Underpants Boy [link] , all dressed up ready for some trick or treatin' this Halloween. He happens to find himself in Halloween town, simply because I thought the background was fitting and looked better than a plain one. I did create it in Photoshop using a mouse, so don't be too harsh eh? ^_^
Yeh, Jack Skellington can be seen in the background, cos nightmare before christmas is cool.

heh, thanks alot. Yeh, i wanted glowing eyes and didnt know how to do it. It looks ok, nothing like i imagined it though. Need to brush up on skills and techniques.

Good Choice ~it's the best for colouring. (CS2 is better but CS1 really blows)
If u want something to glow set your brush 'mode' to: 'Linear Dodge' and set the brush 'opacity' way down (like less than 20%) Choose a light colour like a pastel yellow. then draw the widest area of the glow using a big brush, then using progressively smaller brushes work your way into the centre of the glow, each brushstroke makes the patch you’ve colourd lighter and brighter. The end result is a pretty glow. This kinda only works on dark backgrounds

I do, it's a great picture with just the right halloween party atmosphere.
It might look a little childish to some but it's all part of modern halloween. An highly adult picture wouldn't have the right look to it.

very nice man, colours are great, and the background is quite busy without taking focus away from the main character, which imo is a hard thing to do

Cheers man. It wasnt a conscious decision. Probably worked out because nothing else was outlined. I hate that it looks very 'paint' like, but at least its better than no background.

thanks. See, its all kinda NBX related. The pumpkin head, the shorts which were kinda like the bag lock shock and barrel kidnap santa in, and yeh, the background is just NBX. I got the poster on my wall so I was just looking up to it and drawing it on the computer.
