Description This is a painting bringing together several of my favourite dark fairytales.RAEL is an imaginary place from a psychedelic album from the 60 band The Who.The Red Chins(The Gargoyles) are threatening the hero's homeland,so he sets sail leaving his beloved to wait for a signal, tied to the mast, to see whether he is returning to Rael or exiled forever.

Now Captain, listen to my instructions
Return to this spot on Christmas Day
Look toward the shore for my signal
And then you'll know if in Rael I'll stay
If a yellow flag is fluttering
Sickly herald against the morn
Then you'll know my courage has ended
And you'll send your boat ashore
But if a red flag is flying
Brazen bold against the blue
Then you'll know that I am staying
And my yacht belongs to you

Watercolour,pencil & metallic powders.

Kind ofΒ like a Punch and Judy show....super enjoyable that way. Mesmeric, and mystical....soft set on the imagination....these are great

Wow, your style has changed so much within the past year. This picture seems a bit more chaotic, not as organized as your newer ones.

It's very beautiful, though. The shading on the boat I like a lot for some reason, I think it's because you managed to give it lots of texture by only giving it a tiny bit of highlights. The Jester's face is really nicely done, and so is the girl who I am assuming is his love. Her swirling hair is really something to admire.

You leave such lovely, thoughtful comments, they are very much appreciated!!Mmm, this is my other[older] style, it's very soft, I'm getting more graphic,I think!!Jesters/Harlequins I'm obsessed with,!!...she's waiting(fruitlessly) for his return...

I would think you would be a fan of Jethro Tull's Thick as a Brick for some reason.

Well, you thought wrong,precious...I don't really know that much about Tull-a contemporary of Dylan's?(loathe as I am to confess my ignorance, I'm way too hot to bother searching for it...even with the aircon on!)It does what it says on the box....represent my unhealthy imagination let loose on a Who song that I always admired for its beautiful chorus & bizarrely cryptic lyrics....

You see, I can't even edit my comments properly!*is dumb*!I'm still new at this! I just thought you might think I was implying you would get more friends than you wanted, & that seems rude!(*Goes off to watch the SpongeBob movie for the 100th time-someone more idiotic than me!*)

Hehe thanks *blushes* Don't worry, I've been here only a little while and have friends who've been here forever, and only yesterday did I figure out how to do that [link] thing lol, so you're not alone in this big scary world xD And I'm sure you're not that idiotic, I have a number of typical blonde friends

You're right! There is LOTS of different kinds of figures. And I like the theme of this picture too.

This is awesome, there's a lot to look at... some of the figures seem like they should be a little darker, though.

Good work.
