Ah, what can be done with some plastic canvas, a mile of yarn, and about ten pounds of soggy newspaper!

I made this ghoul mask for my Roommate-no-more, for last year's halloween party. We all went as warcraft themed stuff. I was a murloc, my man was an owlbear, and Roomie was a ghoul. (we also gave her a nametag that read "Hello, my name is Plague Face" to help with the illusion.) She made the rest of her costume, but the mask was my doing. Built up a frame for the paper mache with plastic canvas and hot glue, then spent hours spreading thin layers of glue-soggy paper pulp over the frame, dried it out with the aid of a hair dryer, and gave it a few coats of paint. After tying up the raggedy yarn hair, mask was done! Since the halloween party, this little beauty has been hanging on our dining room wall, but now that roomie is movie out to get her own place, she wants to take it with her. Decided I'd better snap a picture of my hard work before it starts decorating HER dining room wall!
