Happy (early) Year of the Rabbit! Featuring the one and only Cream the Rabbit!!

Everyone else was doing a fanart of Cream contributing to the Year of the Rabbit, given that she's a rabbit character and one of the most popular rabbit characters in any media, especially video games, so I had to do mine as well to give out my appreciation! So here is my own contribution to the Year of the Rabbit featuring Crrrreaaaaammm!!! It's been SO long since I've drawn herrrrrr and although it seemed like I draw 'Sonic' fairly often now, I don't often draw other Sonic characters than Sonic, and plus we really need Cream back!! We really miss her--she's such an underrated character tbh with you!!

And also, this could might as well be a contribution piece of Cream's anniversary of her debut in 'Sonic Advance 2' since December 19, as I didn't even do a piece of her to contribute to that day. I've been such a Mega Man art freak, my bad...

As part of the Lunar New Year fest, I obviously have Cream wearing a qipao, the traditional Chinese dress worn by women, particularly on the day of Chinese New Year (another name for "Lunar New Year") or any other formal event like how kimonos are traditional Japanese robes often worn to formal events. (I'd love to wear a qipao myself too ) I used Lunar Amy and some qipao patterns as inspirations to help me design a qipao for Cream the same way I designed kimonos using similar references for Zero and Ciel as part of the [Japanese] New Year fest. Cream's qipao is white and partially pale vermillion with peach-colored edges, gold adornments, and cherry blossom pink sakura flower and petal prints at the bottom rim. The qipao also has white ruffles at the sleeve ends and bottom rim. I wanted to go with the intent of giving her qipao a mostly white design for the rabbit/Year of the Rabbit aesthetic. And then she dons two cherry blossom pink sakura hair clips on her ears with the red tassels, white tights, gold ring anklets, and vermillion cotton shoes with white soles. I also have her carrying the stick which you attach the paper lantern to as often seen being held by people on the day of Chinese New Year for festival purposes.

This is presumably the cutest qipao I've ever made for Cream, it's just so fitting for her!!  Though I might not be 100% happy with it, but for a young rabbit like her in favor of Year of the Rabbit, I think this is a well-designed qipao for her, as I intended to go with the Year of the Rabbit aesthetic and include a few elements of Cream's regular attire like the vermillion and yellow color.

And low-key, today is a reschedule for something called Multicultural Day at my school, where we can choose to participate in the event by bringing our culture via cultural outfits, items, or flags, and learning about our different cultures. Though I didn't exactly sign up to participate, at least I took the time to contribute to a culture since Lunar/Chinese New Year is coming up this month by drawing this piece of Cream wearing a qipao in favor of the Year of the Rabbit, and I also celebrate Lunar New Year since I'm part-Chinese. =] Not only was I eager to do Cream in the Lunar New Year outfit like Amy, but I'm also planning on doing Lunar New Year styles for Palette and Ciel in the Mega Man X DiVE style for how I'd imagine those being their Mega Man X DiVE alternative costumes as usual (in other words, I'm planning on doing a Lunar Palette and Lunar Ciel), and maybe also do yet another group-more-than-one-person pic with Palette, Ciel, Cream, and possibly Amy as well when it's near Lunar New Year like how I did a Christmas pic of Ciel and Aile in their Christmas outfits on Christmas Eve.
