Description
Here I lie,
a broken and beaten soul.
Since the day I was born I had no choice,
since you chose me to be your mighty warrior.
I was to do your evil deed,
...and put forth evil seed,
and I was to do it all for you.
And all for you it was done.
Every day I did what you told me to,
I trained harder,
got stronger,
faught the sickness and the pain.
I played by the rules.
YOUR rules.
My paws never touched the soft warmth
of dirt and grass.
I never felt the warm embrase
of a loving child.
My skin never was given the pleasure to feel
the soft, cozey gift of a blanket or bed.
I was never shown compassion,
never touched, never cleaned.
My only friend was the chain around my neck.
Too heavy for a man to carry on his own,
too inhumane to be used for a dog like me,
yet it hung from my neck,
like an unwanted brother.
It was there my whole life.
And the only time it left me,
was when the evil dooings were being done.
And even then I had a pair of jaws in my face,
snapping at my precious skin,
craving for my blood.
Because blood was the law.
Blood was the rules.
No blood, no life.
Too much blood, no more life.
Those were your rules.
And so I faught back,
and desbite your lack of compassion,
I trusted you.
Some might even say I loved you.
At the sight of you, my tail would spring to action.
Hearing your voice, even when angry or loud,
would make me feel home and accepted.
Safe.
Dooing your deed would please me,
because it would please you.
I came out of it with many wounds,
but the wounds would turn to scars.
And they, like the pain and hurt,
never left.
And as time came to pass,
nothing could fix my broken heart.
I soon felt like a fool to have trusted you,
you led me wrong.
I thought I could love you...
until the day I took my last breath because of you.
My whole life was leading up to this wrong moment,
the moment the other warrior would grab hold of my throat..
and not let go.
The moment where I would finally meet this god,
and he would open his arms to me
as if I were a sacred thing,
sheild me from further evil
and mend to my wounds and free my soul.
I took my last breath with this chain on my neck,
these scars on my face,
this pain deep in my muscles,
and this hole in my heart.
I died a hurt and broken soul.
The other warrior didnt kill me that day....
YOU did.
