Description
We got inspired by the art of Peter van Loenhout and decided to try and paint in a style similar to his. It was a very enjoyable experiment and I'm looking forward to make more art like this!Acrylics and sand on canvas

First thought: Movement. The brush strokes and their placement not only aid in composition but also invigorate the piece. There's interest now, beyond just a painted owl. "Why the circular patterns?", "Why do the dabs appear to be rising?" these are questions confronting the viewer. I feel the color palette could have pushed this piece further though. It's a great base, but maybe consider a bit of glazing on the lighter areas. Working in some lighter but saturated colors around you highlights could really bring some wow factor to the piece. All in all a great effort. Keep up the good work

This is just gorgeous! I love how much richness and depth the gold and brown colors give to the more-or-less monochromatic scheme. The abstract design gives a really strong sense of composition. Most of all I love the movement from the splatters. Well done!
