First piece of my new project, Disney characters in their (what I believe) historically correct outfit. I noticed some other artist have done this too, but I tried to place the story in a fitting time and location.First Snow White, because she was the first Disney Princess (1937). I remember from watching the movie as a child that her dress looked like a dirndl. I placed the movie in southern Germany, the scenery and most of the clothing (like the huntsman's) seem to fit there. I looked at pictures on one of my favorite sites (it's in one of my previous journals) and placed this Snow White around the year 1800.
As you can see, I did not get rid of her Disney outfit. She still has the yellow skirt and the blue bodice. I would love to tell more about her outfit, but I don't know the right English words for it... sorry...
Anyways, I'm not sure who I'll do next, but I think I'm just going with the order the movies came out, so that would be Cinderella!

Very cool^^ There is a movie called "Brothers" Grimm which might interest you?
It´s not a german production, but is surely worthy to watch.
I think they settled the tale of Snow White in the Schwarzwald region (black forest),
others say the original castle and tale played in Hessen (central Germany).

The original story is probably a mix of even older stories, perhaps even from the ancient world. Stories of poisoned or cursed fruit is of course at least as old as the Torah. But the Grimm Brothers have done a great job at combining them and making them last (probably) forever. I'd love to read Kinder- und Hausmärchen some time.

I love it, the apron, the bodice with the stitching and the choker (I love chokers!) are my favourite details. Really great! I'm going to check and comment on the others right now.
