Papyrus only friend? i doubt it, not to mention undyne is inmensely more powerful than sans (she is good, so no karma retribution here) and thus, sans coudlnt kill undyne even if he wanted to.
The real question is, if sans was this overprotective in the game, why he let you kill your brother?
He knew you were a serial murderer, he knew you never spared the life of a single monster, he knew you were going to fight papyrus.
Yet he let a serial murderer with no remorse go to where his brother was, kill him, and leave unharmed, without even moving a finger.
