How do you manage to take such clear photos of your minis? My wife has a devil of a time with it. Either it's too blurry or too dark or the colors get washed out. :/

Hi! I hate photography hehe so I feel your pain! I have a little dedicated photo spot, and have lamps with daylight bulbs on either side to cancel out shadows. When I shoot I shoot in macro mode (little flower icon on some cameras) and even then it's a trial and error to make sure things aren't too blurry or out of focus. I often shoot and reshoot till I get the angle of the figure nice and everything clear. In this shot above her staff is a bit out of focus unfortunately. I believe also shooting with a higher aperature or f stop will help cut down on blurriness as well. I also try to shoot on lighter colored backgrounds. I've tried shooting against black or dark grey and for whatever reason it throws the colors into doing odd things. Since a lot of the figures I paint are for other people, trying to get the light to show how the figure will actually look in hand is important, more so than a dramatic effect (even though a lot of stuff shot against black looks cool and impressive). Not sure if the above info will be of help but good luck!

Greetings!
Do you have any higher res pics of this mini? I have primed and base-coated, and some of the details (particularly the neck) are hard to still see now. I'm trying to use yours for reference.

Anne I really like your color choices and the shading.  Base is fun too.

I have trouble coming up with the proper words to describe the figure beyond variations on "Whoa, COOL!," but I just wanted to at least call out specifically that I really love whatever is going on with that base and the points of red (is the base hand-made?), and I like the effect of that glowing(?) swirl on the cheek. (I really need to try more tattoos/facepaint/etc. on figures rather than just leaving the face plain.) It looks great!

Great job, Anne. Is the curled rune on her left cheek part of the sculpt or just painted on?

Thanks! The rune on her cheek is freehand,as well as areas of her skirt.

She's supposed to be evil. She looks way to pretty to be evil.
