Thanks so much for the compliment. Β I never really keep track of how long a portrait takes but colored pencil is a slow medium so it does take a while. Β I am getting faster though as I gain experience and learn which colors work with which. Β Here is a link to the Wetcanvas art forum where I posted a WIP of this one some time ago. incredible how realistic it looks!
What I appreciate the most of this picutre are two things:
The incredible detail - so perfect (I am just freaking out at details 
And the difference you worked out between the structure of the fur and the eyes which look so realistic

Prismacolor?! I can't use Prismacolor to save my life!

I do love my Prismacolor pencils. They are perfect for my style but it did take lots of practice to develop.

I started out working strickly with graphite but wanted to switch to color and since I already was familiar with pencil work I decide to try colored pencils. This was back about 10 years ago. I only had cheap Laurentian pencils to start but then gradually bought Prismacolor pencils and have used them since. At the time Prismacolor was the only cp that I had heard about but now there are a variety of cp's to choose from I like the Prismas because of their soft waxy feel and they work great for my style.
