Description A Twi'lek bounty hunter, Oskara is the second of my character designs/chapter plates for Fantasy Flight Games' "Star Wars: Edge of the Empire" Roleplaying game. They actually just announced a starter box set for the RPG that has ready-made scenarios and characters, one of which is the Lovely O here. It looks amazing, and if what I heard is correct then it will be coming out Q4 2012: [link]

And here's a link to the main game, which is currently in it's beta phase: [link] Wars: Edge of the Empire Beta

This is a really cool design. We don't get to see Twi'leks depicted as bad asses very often unless they're sith/jedi.  Really dig the heavy weight you gave all her gear. You can really feel the weight of it. Nice work!

This is amazing. I mod a twi'lek subreddit. Would you mind if I used this as a sidebar image? All I would do is add the subreddit name (/r/lekkulovers). I'd love to use an image like this to convey that the sub is meant to be appreciatory of the twi'lek race rather than a fetishist forum.

I hope all or most of the artworks you do for the RPG will be used for the LCG too, they're fantastic! A badass female Twi#Lek in full armor, that's the spirit!

This is awesome artwork!  I just bought the Beginner Game for EotE and look forward to playing through it.  Oskara is my favorite character of that box set and this picture really captures the toughness of her.

OSKARA! I love your art! Thanks,  it's a great addition to a great game. Actually to great games! As some of your drawings are on the Living Card Game as well.
We've been playing since the Beginner's box came out and we love this game. The art that you've provided is a great inspiration to the game.

I played the starter game with my regular Friday group not too long ago. It was fun, and your illustrations really suited the characters and gave some good graphic description of their personalities. Due to being short a player at the time Oskara here was the only one not used. Too bad-she looked like a one tough broad.

I can not even begin to tell you how much I love this piece. Twi'leks are my favorite Star Wars race. I play the old D6 table top RPG and I can never find artwork of female Twi'leks that are clothes, let alone in full armor. She is beautiful!

I don't think I can put into words how happy I was to see a badass female BH, and not only that but a twi'lek to boot! I actually don't think I've ever seen someone paint a non-sexualized twi'lek lady, as someone who adores the race this is absolutely fantastic.
Will you ever make it available as a print on your site, or on here?

glittersweet In reply to Ventks [2012-09-19 23:36:33 +0000 UTC]

I have to agree This image has come through my tumblr feed a few times (with linkbacks and credit so yay for people using tumblr properly) and I stop scrolling every time because she has so much story!

I am a costumer and cosplayer and this is the kind of art that gets me excited about new projects. Visually sumptous- the colours, the flow of the body- but also the expression on her face! She feels real, like her history is just about within reach.

Incredible. Just , wow. And especially to see a female character with so much character? Thank you.

I definitely plan on having prints ready of all of my current Star Wars stuff ready in the near future, it's just a matter of roping together enough time to get everything set up. I'll be posting about it on here once I've figured it out.

R-Zion [2012-09-18 18:10:41 +0000 UTC]

So did you came up with the design for Oskara yourself or did you work off a written description from Fantasy Flight?

Either way-- and this is going to sound weird-- but I'm actually rather excited to see a non-sexualized female Twi'lek. They're a rare breed and this piece of artwork is absolutely FANTASTIC! Can't wait to learn more about her.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

AnthonyFoti In reply to R-Zion [2012-09-18 19:17:02 +0000 UTC]

That is not weird at all, I feel exactly the same way. I don't mind art getting sexy now and again, when it's called for, but the way 90% of women in fantasy/sci-fi art are heavily sexualized drives me bananas. I prefer art the young girls can be inspired by without feeling the need to look sexy and have giant boobs. Rant over.

As for the characters, I was just in charge of their physical appearance, which is good enough for me. The writers deal with her story, and I figure out what she looks like

R-Zion In reply to AnthonyFoti [2012-09-18 19:44:12 +0000 UTC]

Okay, cool... since you were in charge with coming up with her appearance, then FULL KUDOS to you, my friend. I can't wait to see what else you design for the RPG-- it's actually the first Pen and Paper Star Wars game I'm seriously considering playing.

I just recieved the Beta in the mail the other day and am in the same boat. I haven't actually had time to do any tabletop RPG anything over the past 10 years, but after reading through the core book my friends and I are all jazzed and going to start up a new game.
