I noticed that there's a huge need for more great African American super heroes. So instead of me creating my own, I'm just drawing African American versions of already established heroes.Related content

beautiful. i want to learn how to draw black people, like me, but i usually only find books on anime/manga. does anyone have any suggestions/recommendations or books they found helpful?

Beautiful rendering! However, as my Mother often quoted to me, 'rather than try to get your piece of the pie, make your OWN DAMN PIE! The late, great, brother McDuffy led by example in that, rather than Nubian retreads, he took a fresh angle on an old concept by introducing new characters( one, 'Static' is still extant as of this posting I think) .Also, you may want to check out aeolus06's gallery and his excellent ;Voltage ' character. It's true Minorities are underrepresented in comic book culture, and that will change when we speak with our OWN imprints in our OWN voices.

That's what I've been saying for the longest. I'm an up and coming writer and I'm going to try and write more African American Heroes. I really like this.

Exactly. There is a serious lack of good Black heroes; and not just Black heroes, but heroes of other races and ethnicities in general.
