You know I once saw a fanfiction where Hades admits to Persephone that when he was younger he'd been extremely close to Demeter and offered to marry her in order to keep her away from Zeus and Poseidon's unwanted affections, but Demeter turned down his offer because she didn't want to leave the Upperworld behind and she thought that she was able to handle them herself.

Hades: ....... A serious issue....
Zeus, starts sweating *internally*: Oh Shit! Oh Shit! He's coming to me for help! What do I do?
Hades: I must ask you, Zeus. *Groans awkwardly* You see there is this woman-
Zeus, wipes away sweat: Oh thank god! I got this!
Hades: Zeus, I ask you for your daughter's hand in marriage.
Zeus, quietly: I have a daughter?
Hades: Yes! Her name's Persephone! CAN I MARRY HER OR WHAT?!
Zeus: Oh... Uh... Sure...?

*Hades disappears*
