Description Omfg.. I can't believe how girly this one is  My brother keeps on referring to Sylveon as "fake Eevee"..  He doesn't believe in anything past Espeon and Umbreon.  I left off the bow and ribbons on the neck because I was lazy, because you wouldn't see it anyway, and because it would make it more difficult for Sylveon to belly-flop properly  There were a lot of small pieces that were quite annoying to make, but I pushed through because I need to have the whole set!

Eyes, pink on the head, and blue in the ears were needle felted.  I've put together a basic tutorial for eyes here-->fav.me/d7g779t but you can learn more about needle felting on YouTube.

Anyway, here is the pattern!  Happy crocheting and please let me know if I've made any errors!

Hi, and thanks for working hard and posting the patterns here for free =^.^=

Thanks for all your hard work. I'm going to try needle-felting now. Do you felt the head and then sew on the ears or the other way round? I really like the look of your work, thanks.

For those of you still having trouble with the ears, here's what I did, which looks about right.

When you connect Piece 1, sc in piece one, then dec two times onto piece one, sc once more on piece 1.
Reconnect to piece two by sc onto piece 2, and sc 11 afterwards. You should now have 19
st in total with a little numb sticking off piece two.

I'm completely ignorant to needle felting ( granted  I have always wanted to try it) but if you were to wash it would the eye and ear fluff unfelt itself since it is just the fibers? Or would it help felt them?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

IndegoSkye In reply to Purplefright [2016-09-17 17:54:41 +0000 UTC]

From my experience, when you needle felt, it pushes through the crochet fibers and connects to itself on the other side. I've made stuffed toys and baby rattles with felted parts, and they felt a little more each time you wash it. If you want to ensure good staying power, take a little mild dish soap, and warm water, and scrub the felted parts with your hand.

Hey! Is it possible for you to post a tutorial on how to connect the separate parts for the Ears and Tail and such? I am having a real hard time figuring out how to do it and I cannot find a tutorial online. If you could post one or find one online maybe (if you know where to look and I don't haha) that would be amazing.

May I ask where you buy your felt? I've been to Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, Michaels and Hancock, and I can't find anything other than a "starter pack" with mostly "useless" colours  I'd LOVE to make my daughter a Sylveon, but without the right colour felt, it's difficult!

IndegoSkye In reply to bmestar [2016-09-17 17:45:34 +0000 UTC]

A lot of times, you can go to local yarn fiber shops, like the fancy yarn shops, and they'll have fiber and roving. Or look up a "spinning guild" and they'll be able to tell you where to get the wool for these types of projects.

I spin some of my own yarn, so I had a bunch of leftover colors.... none of them work for this..... SO I'll be hunting down some from a local shop.

You can also order roving and feltable wool from etsy.

Suffer--in--Silence In reply to bmestar [2016-04-09 17:15:32 +0000 UTC]

If you buy a dog's brush, one of those metal brushes, you can brush out any yarn color you like and use the fluff that comes off for needle felting. I've seen this brushing out method used in making yarn tails, and it produces a lot of excess yarn fluff, so when I had the same issue as you, I just put two and two together and tried it. It worked :3

I'm having trouble with the ear pieces how are you attaching the 1st and 2nd pieces of the ear? when I'm attaching them it doesn't look right also when going around on the 8th and 9th rounds am I just supposed to do SC all the way around on the 8th and on the 9th am I supposed to SC and dec 2 SC all the way around?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

aphid777 In reply to EntrancedEarth [2015-01-08 00:06:32 +0000 UTC]

To attach the pieces, I just continue crocheting along the 2nd piece directly onto the 1st piece.  I'm not too sure how to explain it better than that  For the 8th and 9th rounds, just do exactly what is written, not all the way around.

Do you mean when you pull up a loop on the 2nd piece, you also pull up one on the 1st, and then pull the yarn through both at the same time?

Hi there, me again   I might have found a little error at the ears -
Ears:
Piece #2:

11.  Sc around (19)
12.  Dec, sc 8, dec, sc 7 (17)

I had to change it to;

11. Sc 18, dec (19)
12. Dec, sc 8, dec, sc 6, dec (17)

At the first ear I thought it was my mistake, but I had to do exactly the same for the 2nd ear. They still turned out like ears and look pretty nice   so I don't who's mistake it is but I just thought to let you know. Will link you a picture when it's done as usual. Thanx very much!

Hello!  The numbers I have should be correct since round 11 has 19 stitches, there should only be 2 decreases in round 12 to make 17 stitches.  3 decreases would make 16 stitches instead of 17 stitches in round 12.  Whatever happens to work for you though!

MVRysis In reply to MVRysis [2014-07-17 15:05:41 +0000 UTC]

oh you know what? I think I just attached the little piece #1 a bit differently so it screwed up my stitch count a bit. cause if you count up what i did in row 12 it needs 20 stitches in row 11, not just the 19, so definitely an error on my side.

I really want to try this out! The only thing I'm worried about is the needle-felting. I've never done it before, and I don't really have the materials for it. What would you recommend? Also, where do you get your stuffing? I've only ever made hats, which don't necessarily need stuffing ahaha. Great work on all the patterns! I swore I wouldn't make any dolls and then I saw these and now I have to!

aphid777 In reply to shadowrulesall [2014-06-27 03:18:08 +0000 UTC]

You can check Michael's, Hobby Lobby, or find supplies online for needle felting (you will need a special needle felting needle and roving wool).  If you can't find the right color, you can actually brush out your own yarn and use it for needle felting.  I've found that it doesn't layer on as smoothly as wool, but it works.  If you want to learn more about needle felting, there are a lot of YouTube tutorials available online

The stuffing I use is called polyfil.  I buy 10 pound boxes from Walmart because I make a LOT of plushies  And I'm very glad you changed your mind!
