i think its interesting... there is no smile on his face, the smiles always wore off of my playskool figurines first, just like my legos. it might have been because i carried them around with thier heads in my mouth. i dont know.... but the smiles they alway rubbed off. it used to devistate me when i found a figue with no smile.
Im not sure how i feel about he texture, it has that vintage wrinkle feel but then again it dosent because I know its the textured side of water color paper or something similar. but the colors definately lend well to the nostalgic feel.
^_^ this is one of my favorite paintings. i have looked at it almost every time i have logged on DA for the past few weeks

Right on.... I'm glad you like it that much. It's nice and simple. It's actually one of my favorites as well. The surface is gessoed water color paper. I've done quite a few paintings on this same subject. I must admit that this one here is my favorite though. Here's a link to several more paintings of a similar vain.

The abstract qualities of the piece are very good. Also you achieved a sense of nostalgia (I think it is because of the color scheme) which is very fitting for the subject.
