Description This is one of my favorite areas to paint around Tahoe. Those boulders resting under this clear, emerald green waters. And the gentle ripples refracting light all around.

Please go here. You won't regret it. This particular spot means a lot to me. The North East corner of Tahoe is probably one of my favorite places to paint. It's just so clear and colorful and peaceful and beautiful and quiet. I could ramble on and on about that area.

LOL, we've driven past often enough but we need to make it the destination! It may happen on Monday we don't want to go on a weekend - too many people...unfortunately it is the complete opposite end of the lake from us and I've got a daughter who HATES to get up early...maybe we'll do a sunset day there.

I'd recommend a nonWeekend date as well. Parking is tight over there on the weekends. Early morning light isn't the best since it sits right under the mountains. Early afternoon is good and sunset is always nice to. Here, I made this little map so you can get an idea of where to go.

What a cool map!! Thank you so much My only question - where do you park besides the actual Sand Harbor park? Just along the road near the nude beach?

We've decided we're going to wait until near the end of August - the Shakespeare Festival is going on everyday until then...

Once you go past sand harbor, there's a small parking lot on the lake side. Closer to secret cove, there's parking along the lake side along the hill. There's a wide shoulder made for parking. And the trail can be accessed from that point. There's also a small parking lot near the bottom of that small grade that leads down to a dirt road and you can take that down for a bit and then cut off on a side trail to access the cove. I can't wait to see your pictures.

Thanks. "Inspiring" is one of the compliments one can receive. I love this piece and will never sell it because it's one of my favorite places to paint and not only is the painting nice, but the memories associated with it are fantastic.
