commented on my sleeping forest sprite picture and I replied saying that I was thinking of drawing a relaxed drawing of every gym leader.I decided to start with Misty since she's my favorite female gym leader above all the other gym leaders in every region.
In HG/SS she's always seen at the Cape of Cerulean City and tells you that she has "high hopes" about that place, which is what prompted me to title this "High Hopes"

I like the way you painted the cliff and the background--it's super nifty and paint-ish. (The sun is freakin' pretty too.) I'm also highly amused by the wingulls for some reason. XD Which is pretty dumb, since they ARE the pokemon equivalent of seagulls and they have every right to be there, but...whatever. I'm easily amused, let's just leave it at that mmkay.
Looking forward to the rest, if you actually stick with this idea and do all the gym leaders. I know I have trouble sticking with picture series.

LOLOL The wingulls, ahhh.... I didn't want the sky to be too empty so I just slapped them on. I was actually playing SS while doing this, so I opened the pokedex and had to use the wingull sprite as a reference. That was fun xD I thought about adding a few sea pokemon but I got lazy

Yeah, I'm pretty weak versus water...usually I have like, one electric pokemon or something, and then it gets wiped out and I'm screwed. She's waaay easier in HG/SS than FR/LG though...I guess because you have a chance to get some decently-leveled electrics by the time you get to her. Pretty sure it was my luxray that wiped the floor with her. XD

LOL at the typhlosion in his sleep part. Yeah, I agree. She was much easier in HGSS. I beat her with my luxray too! ROFL Luxray is such an epic pokemon

It is pretty epic. I mean, it's a lightning lion. Freaking awesome. And it's pre-evolutions make some cute freakin' noises to boot. XD

Yeah, I know. I notice it mostly in the legendaries. When did they get all weird and blocky and vaguely roboty and shit? What happened to legendaries like the Zapdos/Articuno/Moltres and Lugia/Ho-oh? -shakes head-
I think I maaay still get Black/White. Mostly because I'm terribly amused by that electric zebra and that pink flower-studded marshmallow thing is adorable. IDK, the normal pokemon don't seem so bad, but the legendaries...

Yeahh, that's what I mean too. They're getting wayy too complex The simplicity of the past legendaries made them so epic. I'm getting black/white because the trainers look too cool xD the girl doesn't look that stupid looking either + she still has the crazy hair that the pokemon female protagonists are famous for xD

Maybe they're running out of legendary ideas. I HAVE noticed they have a lot of friggin' dragon legends lately. Branch out, guys! Make a unicorn legendary! Or, shit, a hydra or something! XD You could make a nice pair of unicorn/pegasus based legends...you could even add a kirin for a trio, or a hippocampus sort of thingy. But that's me being a mythology nerd who wants more mythological critters in everything.
