Reading your description hit me like a truck. I remembered the days I was under 10 years old, playing Majora's Mask, my first game ever. Until this day, it is my favourite entry in the franchise. A friend of mine had Ocarina, and since neither of us could afford other games due to how expensive they were, we would swap every now and then. I spent plenty good years of my childhood going around both games, progressing ever so slowly, since english wasn't my native language and I was so invested in those worlds I honestly loved simply wandering around. These games taught me how to speak and read in another language, or at the very least started the learning process.Β
Flashforward to many years later. Going through college, not much money nor a 3DS. Then, november 5th, 2014, the exact date of my birthday, Nintendo announced Majora's Mask 3D. I burst in tears right then and there, the nostalgia rushing through and pretty much obligating me to buy a 3DS, and holy hell was that a ride. Beat the game 100% in less than a week, not because I was trying to be fast, but because the game just clicked and flowed so naturally this time. Words cannot explain the feelings I have towards this franchise...
24 years old today, soon to be 25. Played every Zelda to date, bought almost all Nintendo consoles I could since then. This franchise is what made me a gamer, and what brings me back to a very loved past every time I play an entry.

The life of The Hero of Time is really sad actually. if you guys havent read up on the zelda historia. His life gets worse after majoras mask.

just look it up. He is acidentaly responsible for the eradication of the Garudo race. no one knows hes a hero. ends up becomeing a mercinary and dies alone. he does get skull kid to set up stuff for his reincarnation to find (twilight Princess). he is one of the few links that relized that he gets reincarnated all the time. but yeah he dies alone. In TP that link meets a skeliton in armor who shows him how to fight. this is actually memorys of himself implanted into his new brain using those shieka stones. its not a ghost its memories of himself. wierd

I thought I'd share something of my Link's adventure gameplay, when I was making a story driven video on the game. One of the towns is named Saria. In that town, there is a spell you learn called Life. As I was playing and narrating the story in my own way, there were times I needed to heal myself using the spell. "As Link fought his dark counterpart, with equal skill and wounds alike, Link's strength is revived with the support of Saria." I thought it was rather touching in a way.

Srry to butt in, but as a oot fanatic, this scene I think is meant to illustrate how Link and Saria, who were childhood friends, canΒ΄t see eachother anymore due to that she is a spirit of the forest now when heΒ΄s adult as is her duty. She thus exists on another plane and has lost her physical form. Before she disappeared/You set her free from the forest temple, she used to sit at that tree stump and play on a ocarina her song.Β
