Description
Hero Weapons
Sword of Varandis
A single-handed sword said to be able to cleave anything. Its blade is made of aurithim, a white-gold metal mixed with crystal that the goddess herself taught Varandis to forge. Its shape was the basis for the cross on the Delvan flag and crest.
Shield of Orana
A large shield said to be able to block anything. It is imbued with many layers of shielding magic and forged from aurithim by Varandis' son. Its shape was the basis for the lily motif common in Delvan regalia.
Staff of Cyndril
A double-handed magic staff said to hold powerful spells unique to the saint. More robust than decorative as Cyndril acquired it when he was poor. The crystal is a fusion of many different ones, which he grafted himself over his lifetime with magic Aurea showed to him alone. It has no defined colour, seemingly changing as it wills.
These are base designs; they may be embellished or modified as long as the main elements remain.
The Test
Characters who wish to test themselves with a weapon must request it from the Oracle and 'dance' with it - i.e. use it in a few favourite maneouvres - in order to try spiritually connect with it. The true heir will feel a special presence when they make a connection. The dance must be witnessed by the Oracle and is guarded by at least four elite Templars, including the Templar Grand Master. Anyone else who wishes to may also spectate.
The weapons are available for oathbound Delvans during the Fire and Fury prompt. They will given out to player characters, if appropriate, at the end of the prompt. Mains and sides are both eligible.
