Description
...no, not that one from the Chamber of Secrets (though the name makes me think of it..)
Saw a photo of a plumed basilisk in an art forum I participiate in, and wanted to make a drawing inspired by that photo.... I found this an interesting subject because of the flaming orange eyes in contrast to the bright green and blue colors of the skin.... and seeing the form of the head with those fins, I can believe that they are some of the reptile species that may have inspired dragons (next to for example iguanas)
It took me really long....reptiles are very demanding to draw because they are so full of scales (and I drew every single scale instead of just the skin!) But it was a fun project to do!
And since suggested me to draw some more dragons and reptiles, I decided to upload the finished version here..
Used Polychromos pencils and a black PITT Artist Pen Brush.
