This is the 12th image from a series entitled Everything Must Go, a study of Whitley Bay and the state that it is in. This was produced as a college project, and while it's something of a botch-job I think it's a theme that I can develop further using different locales, or even all of them culmitavely.

This shot was taken just off Holly Avenue, which is one of the streets that leads on to the sea-front. As with most of the back lanes in the town, it's in a state of disrepair.

The title comes from the July Skies track of the same name.

More to come, along with several other concepts.

If only that were the case, this is just a back lane in a quiet coastal town. ;)

There is a lot of depth in this. I like the angles and how the ivy softens it, and the blurred houses balance it out.

Yeah, I'm reasonably content with how this frame came out in terms of composition. Shame it's not split entirely down the middle or in some sort of Fibonacci manner, but that might well be taking it a bit far. Heh.

I think it'd lose something if it were in perfect symmetry, in honesty. The brick is taking up a little more of the frame, giving it the illusion of being much closer than the fence is.

It was closer.

By, like, two inches. :B

I love the composition of this shot. It really conveys the yawning emptiness of the series...

Mm, yeah, this is one of my favourites from the shots that I used in the project. Thank-you for adding this to your favourites; as with the others, I appreciate it.
