This is the third image from a series entitled Everything Must Go, a study of Whitley Bay and the state that it is in. This was produced as a college project, and while it's something of a botch-job I think it's a theme that I can develop further using different locales, or even all of them culmitavely.

This image was taken on the lower Promenade of Whitley Bay, where everything appears to be abandoned aside from a Surfing station that remains open despite the abject lack of any surfers in the immediate area. It's hard to tell whether this place is permanently closed or not, but it certainly doesn't look like it runs brisk trade.

..the balance of the masses and rhythmic rows is appealing. Love the toning here as well!

Ah, yes; this is one of my own favourites from the series.

The unsymmetrical symmetry is unsettling. Very good job.

Yeah, it's unsettling enough just looking at it in-person.

Very nice composition ^^
I like the ironic vision of this shot with all these shops closed and the only that we can read is "open"

Thank-you for that; and yeah, that is what attracted me to take the photograph in the first place, 'cause it looked odd.

This is unbelievably rich with texture - and cold irony.

Yeah, it's one that I am somewhat content with. It would appear that most other people are passing it by, though; I don't think it's going to hit ten favourite-list additions. Hah. Thank-you for yours, though.

Well, someone proved you wrong there. :B
...and no, I wasn't purposely waiting for it to hit that many before I commented. That's just silly talk.

and no worries. I like it. A lot.

Of course not, you'd never do anything like that.
