Thanks so much for making a stamp like this,
People don't know how angry they make me
when they diss me for being emo instead
of goth. Most people don't even know what Goth is
all about and still have the nerve to tell people
that they aren't Gothic. It really sickens me.

Actually, I never said I WAS goth, so don't assume I AM one.
I have goth friends, and they are the happiest people I know.
And goths are normal, they are people just le everyone else like the stamp said.
And they don't always wear black, just so you know.
And, as I said before, please don't be rude to be, I just asked a question because I was wondering your opinion
And don't call me a weeaboo, when I am FROM Japan

Your profile says you're 'goth.'
I never said they weren't happy.
No, today 'normal' means you go around wearing short shorts, ugg boots and a tank top while listening to katy perry/justin beiber or some shit. Not goth.
The original "goths" were a night patrol that wore black. If someone does not wear black, they are not gothic.
You're from Japan? I couldn't tell.

um, hi. I was reading your conversation, and I completely understand what you mean.
But I'm not entirely sure that that's what this stamp is saying. when it say's "normal" I think this stamp just means that goths aren't freaks, well, you know, in the bad way. I mean, it's hard to explain, but it just means that Goths are "normal" in the sense that they are human just like everyone else. yes, Goths pride themselves in being "weird" and "abnormal" and that is totally not a bad thing, that's something I admire about goths. but what this stamp is saying is that Goths should not be treated like they're some disease carrying pest.
as for the not wearing black...Goths do usually wear black, but they do also sometimes where clothes that are blood red, or dark purple, or black-and-white striped or stuff like that. I think that's what this stamp means.
I hope this clears things up, and if not, I'm sorry. I don't want to upset you.

okay. It's alright. it just kinda sounded like you thought that that stamp was saying that Goths were exactly like all the Shallow, celebrity-worshiping pop media clones out there, and that's not really what that stamp was saying at all. It just meant that that Goths deserve to be treated with just as much respect as everyone else. and in my opinion, even more so in most cases.

yup. I just wish that I could be considered goth too. I love all that cool undead, sinister fantasy stuff, but the clothes don't really fit me and I'm not exactly bursting with self confidence or self esteem like real goth people are. I just think goth stuff is all so awesome.
btw, I love your "hate twilight cause I love vampires" stamp. it's so true, that whole series is nothing but an enormous insult to such an awesome genre. I even created my own vampire OC just so I could counter act and replace twilight in my life.

Vovina-de-Micaloz In reply to Talis-Man [2010-09-01 03:42:03 +0000 UTC]
I created vampire OCs in like 2004 and now I feel like my story will never be accepted because "vampires are a fad now" which sucks. I liked being a freak who liked vampires. Now when I say I like them people like "lol u liek twilite u noob" pisses me off.
I'm more of a vampire than that sparklepire.

don't worry, fads go in and out. in a number of years no one will be talking about vampires, and then in an even more number of years they will be popular again except without twilight (good lord I can't wait for that to happen) so, yeah, don't worry about that. remember Buffy? remember Anne Rice? remember Dracula? they went in and out of popularity, and so will twilight. everything always does.
I just hope when they do come back, they won't be all agnsty and melancholy and sappy romantic. a lot of vamp stories are like that, not just twilight, and I hate it.

Talis-Man In reply to Vovina-de-Micaloz [2010-09-01 05:49:08 +0000 UTC]
well.....no, not the sappy, soap opera kind of romance, like what Twilight and countless other vamp stories have done.
but there's nothing wrong with, you know, normal, realistic romance, like the kind that's in, I don't know, action movies or something. No, wait, not that kind, that's not a good- that's not what I meant. what do mean "vampire romance"?
you do have, like sentient vampires, right? I mean, vampires that are all nothing but pure evil or mindless monsters without any train of free will, thought, logic, and common sense is stupid too. like the vampires from Buffy, that was stupid. vampires can have, you know, a mind and can choose to be good, there's nothing wrong with that. my vamp OCs are like that. they're good guys, they're just not mopey melancholy crybabies or sappy soap opera emos like in Twilight. and they also fall in love. real love, not stupid sappy tween-dream love. vamps being nothing but pure evil monsters is another vampire cliche that I despise.

Vovina-de-Micaloz In reply to Talis-Man [2010-09-01 20:41:55 +0000 UTC]
...Vampires being pure evil monsters is what folklore dictates. There were no "sentient" vampires in folklore.
It's not "cliche," it's a damn rule.
š: 0 ā©: 1
Talis-Man In reply to Vovina-de-Micaloz [2010-09-01 21:06:15 +0000 UTC]
yeah, folklore from like the 1800s or early 1900s maybe, but times have changed, without progression and evolution, things get stale and boring. there are no rules in fiction, it's called creative freedom. What Stephanie Myer did was a really dumb idea, but I don't berate her for trying something new.
mindless pure evil vampires is an old, overdone and unoriginal idea. it wasn't back then but it is now. I'm sick of it. trying new things and putting an original twist on things is how stories, and genres, grow and develop. Stephanie Myer tried that and failed horribly, but that doesn't mean other people can't try. Some people might actually succeed and come with a really good new idea.
if you want to "follow the rules" and keep doing the same thing that's been done over and over again, fine, but most people find that really stale and boring.
I'm actually really surprised you said that. I thought Goths didn't care about "rules"

Vampires being romantic, in love with each other and humans is an overdone and unoriginal idea. I see it around 95% of the time compared to the 5% I see that are truly monsters.
Haha you think they're fictional?
š: 0 ā©: 1
Talis-Man In reply to Vovina-de-Micaloz [2010-09-01 22:08:12 +0000 UTC]
no, vampire romance being the entire main focus of the whole damn story is an overdone and unoriginal idea. But that doesn't mean vampires can't fall in love AT ALL! Romance being used only as a downplayed sub-plot is fine. and yeah, there are barely any stories like that, that's what annoys me so much.
and I never said the vampires themselves had to be romantic. people fall in love all the time without either of them being romantic. Yes, Vampires should be badass, gritty, and hardcore, but that doesn't mean they're pure evil, or even normal evil.
are you asking me if I think Undead Supernatural bloodsucking creatures exist here in this universe where we live? because no, I don't think they really exist, not in this universe. we would have noticed something by now. why, you do?
š: 0 ā©: 1
Vovina-de-Micaloz In reply to Talis-Man [2010-09-01 22:24:59 +0000 UTC]
Vampires are hellish creatures, so no, I don't think they should be able to fall in love.
Hmmm sure. People fall in love with them. Hell even 1 character of mine I think is hot...
Demons exist. Why can't vampires... They've probably adapted to a method of survival that would make us not realize they're there. I mean if you were a bloodsucking creature from hell, would you REALLY want to go "HEY IM RIGHT HERE, I EXIST, SEE ME?"
((Even if the blood ones don't exist, psychic vampires do. There have been multiple accounts of attacks, even in this era. There are also just regular people who call themselves vampires that really do behave like them as well.))

Talis-Man In reply to Vovina-de-Micaloz [2010-09-01 23:01:30 +0000 UTC]
you know what, your impossible. vampires are not, or at least they don't have to be, "Hellish Creatures", meaning they are not (or, again, rather don't have to be) "from hell". they're just a form of undead, and all that means is that they are a creature that depends on a much more supernatural way to exist and survive, instead of the more mortal way we do. supernatural, not Satanic. not. from. hell.
If I were a supernatural creature of the undead then hell yes I would exploit the shit out of that. it'd be awesome. and I never said vampires don't exist, I just think they don't exist in this dimension of reality. same goes for your demons.
Yeah, I've heard of those people. they're not vampires, they're just humans who like to drink blood for some reason. and being psychically attacked by someone has nothing to do with vampirism. psychic powers exist in other entities too you know.
I can obviously see that you are not going to falter from your ludicrous "vampires are pure evil mindless agents of the devil and nothing more" theory, so, I don't see any point in continuing to try. it was nice exchanging theories with you, but I'm sorry to say that I do not agree with your opinion on what vampires should be. enjoy your old as dirt "vampires are the devil" stories. hopefully in the future you'll learn to be a bit less racist towards fiction.
