I commend you for staying calm and and not fiercely denying why it's on the front page. *gives brownies* :3

I think this is nice. To all the people complaining about the glitch, please kindly shut up. We all deserve recognition sometimes, not just the pros that seem to barf up amazing epicness with every move of their pen. Those people don't need the "OMGOMGOMG AWESOME" comments as much as us average peeps do.
to the artist:
You have a lovely way of drawing eyes. They're shiny and expressive. They're a little too far apart though, and the angle of the face is a bit odd. But other than that, I think this is quite lovely.
However, just as a bit of advice (and in general, to everyone)
don't start a drawing career with anime. It'll make you feel less sucky, and you can always say "it's a style" to the people pointing out anatomy errors, but in the long run it teaches you nothing and is a bad beginner's mistake. Start out doing realism and observing what you see in life, then putting it down on paper. The world isn't made of lines, but forms. it'll make your art loik better and more practiced in the long run. Once you get very good at that, you can develop your own style. But you have to draw form and light before you draw symbols in their place.

Yeah, in art we did a lot of different stuff. I was in it for like 3 years, but sadly I needed a communications credit so I had to skip this year. Thank you for your comment! I will definitely start doing some more realism on my free time! Thanks again and next time I'll remember to fix the distance between the eyes.

To be honest, DA should glitch more often.

Second this!
It's a great opportunity for upcoming artists and for those you wouldn't otherwise get the views and comments they deserve! For myself, I've actually enjoyed this glitch.

I know there's a glitch or whatever, but I wanted to say that I think your art deserves to be on the front page anyway. Its way better than mine (not that I'VE ever been on the front page lol) XD
I especially love the eyes!

There are too many flaws on this drawing, such as her left going away from her face, the hat that looks weird and large, and the hair looks like more tentacles than anything.
And the fact it looks unfinished doesn't make it better.
If anything, you should really work on the anatomy field, before going on a personal style on your own.

Yes there are certain errors on her work, but the way its all peiced together and her drawing style make us forget it all and look at the real beauty.
Personally I'm tired of too perfect drawings, I prefer something thats unique and simple in its own way, and thats what this artist has done. She hasn't copied another artists style and she hasn't worried about it looking perfect, shes jut doing what she loves best.
I respect you opinion, but the way you picked out all the negatives and thrown it at her was just unnecessary.

"her drawing style make us forget it all and look at the real beauty."
She is just blatantly using the manga/anime artstyle that 80% of dA teenagers do and already did before, and without having a single knowledge on the anatomy field. If she fails at that, there is no "beauty" on this picture like you seem to praise about.

And you just sound like a jealous troll. Ok so your giving her advice, but please, do it in a way that won't make you look like a douche.
There is also nothing wrong with manga art, I personally respect manga artists. They are costantley degraded and looked down on, but they still draw how they want to. And the anatomy part? Who ever said she was drawing from real life? Cartoonists change features on the human body, as do many other type of artists. Take a look at Detective Conan, Its an amazing manga, but the people always have unevenly porportioned heads and noses well as ridculously large eyes. But do you go up to the artist and say Ýour anatomy sucks!' No! Because its how they draw!
Nobody draws the same, and nobody is a perfect artist! You've got to realise that everybody is Diffrent for gods sake! This is what she loves to do! Take one look at her gallery and you'll see that. But then your going to her and telling her to change everything about her drawing. Its dsgusting.
Again I said I respect your opinion but in future please be aware that artists are humans too, and though we strive to be perfctionits, we never will be.
xx
P.S. Aria-Melodie, If your reading this, I'm sorry theres such a Bitchy argumet spamming your comments box,but please do understand that some trolls piss me off. Great Drawing btw

When did I said the manga/anime style was wrong? You don't have a style on your own if you don't practise on real basics (such as human anatomy, dynamic poses, drawing from real life, using photo references, etc...), in order to know the rules before breaking them.
Also ignoring these major principles is the best way to struggle forever on your lifeless art.
It's okay and perfectly normal to be inspired from eastern/western artists, but if you just emulate an artstyle without even understanding it, there's no point of drawing anything. Which is the main reason why I was pointing out that just copying is both bland and unoriginal.

She seems to understand the importance of practise and willing to do so (from her reply to my comment). It's already a good thing to my opinion.

Of course. But giving nothing but just praises isn't how an artist is supposed to improve.
I would be less 'harsh' if you guys (not aimed to you directly) weren't so "omg so beautiful" on your comments

Hey, just because we like it and you don't doesn't mean you have to trash it. There's a difference between constructive criticism and blatantly insulting artwork. And no, saying "You have no depth for anatomy, blah blah blah, you need to use references, blah blah, oh, here's a link that may help but it still sucks blah blah blah" isn't constructive criticism. You honestly don't need to be the Simon Cowell of dA. Nobody likes those. In future critiquing, be more like "I like your style, but here are some pointers I think you need to work on" Instead of "It sucks, this is what you're doing wrong, and you're a terrible artist until you figure out how to do it right."
