your Dark angels are so amazingly painted, I paint to Dark angels but they look like crap compered to yours. very nice conversion! I like that you chose Dark Angels green and not Black for the Armour. Are the "Wings" selfmade?

Wow, that's a really cool model. Are those wings taken from an eldar model?

Damn! That is nice, I wouldn't mind that model for my Raven Guard. Oh well, I just have the origional jump pack chaplain as mine. Actually I have the Dark Angels Azrael as a Raven Guard comander which looks pretty cool for Raven Guard. Nice paint job by the way, those wings have nice blending on them.

Thanks. Ya, wings work really well on Raven Guard too, it's true. It took me a while to find exactly the right piece, nothing in the GW range really worked quite as well.

That is a damn fine chappy!
I admit, him not wearing all-black with a skull mask surprised me, but the image gets across nicely without either. Great job! (LOVE the winged jump pack btw)

ya, I decided that instead of painting my chaplains, librarians, apothecaries and techmarines in different colours, I just used that colour on their shoulder pads, to keep the army looking more coherent... nuts to the codex... and every dark angel needs wings (including dreadnoughts)

thanks... my first marines weren't all that impressive, trust me... pretty much dark angels green armour and bleached bone robes... took about 6-7 years to get to this stage
the wings are off a Reaper miniature, I just couldn't find anything that fit that well in the GW range

wow thats like my painting skill, but people think my painting is impressive, because either they cant, or theyve never seen others.
thast a good idea. but is a reaper miniature fantasy or..eldar?

Neither... Reaper is another range of product, it's not Games Workshop. I think the model I took them from had a fantasy-like templar-knight element to it, but I can't remember what it was called.

I agree with kajiceconrad; the banner would make it too busy. Excellent conversion, not to mention paint job. Half the conversions one usually sees are off balanced somehow, or a little out of wack, but this is a good, solid looking mini, as if it had been made that way. The little details really hold the scheme together:the rubies on the crosses and the deeper reds of the purity seals, the wonderful feel of the crozius' angel, and the fitting black-and-white detailing on the shoulder pad. You should be proud!
Cheers

thanks a lot man... ya, it's really easy to get carried away on conversions, some of my earlier pieces are a good testament to that

Wow! Very nice painting and model. I've heard that highlighting Dark Angels is a very delicate practice. I think that adding the back banner might make the model a little too busy, with the wings and all.

this is true... I want to keep the armour darker, but the edges need to be pretty bright... on small areas that doesn't leave you a lot of room to go from Chaos Black to Goblin Green
ya, that's what I thought too... but I want to give all my characters named back banners... I tried finding a place to right it on the breast plate or shoulder pads, but it didn't look right

Maybe not so much as a standard banner, but what about "streamer" type scriptures? Long cloth banners that might resemble a split cape and would flow with his jump-packing, rather than acting as a sail with the standard bearer's banner. I'm not sure, that's a tricky one!

ya, that's actually a good idea... the dark angel spure has some nice pieces that would work well for that... the side cloth was actually one of thos pieces that I added to the model, to get more of the beige robe colour into it
