Story:
It was still dark outside when Rafael was getting ready for the endurance race. Currently, he was just proud that he hadn't overslept. But really, why did these things have to start this early? Couldn't they start around midday and just go into the night? That would be so much better for his sleep schedule.
Also, it was freezing. Thick and fluffy snowflakes were lazily tumbling down from the sky and landing on Rafael's bare neck.
He was sure his mother had told him to bring a shawl but .... well he had forgotten it. There had been more important things to pack! (He still had managed to forget the cleats for Lagos horseshoes on Trifolios kitchen table and Nat had to throw them out the window at him.)
He tried his best to hide in his coat to keep out the snow. Lagos seemed way more motivated than him. The grey was snorting and swishing his tail around in excitement, but unfortunately making Rafael's job of tacking him up harder.
While he was searching through his saddle bag for Lagos blanket (brand new!) he stumbled upon something bright green.
Now Rafael had no problem with green, but that particular shade was not his favorite. He pulled the ominous cloth out.
It was a shawl. Made from wool, with frog heads on it.
And that kinda made him realize where this thing had come from.
It had been a gift from Maggie to his sister Angel. Unfortunately, Angel liked neither green nor shawls all that much (but she did find those frog heads very cute).
His sister had probably stuffed it into his bag while he was getting Lagos ready for the transport. If she had just given it to him, he'd probably refused to take it.
He wasn't gonna take it now either, but one step outside, and well .... maybe it would be better to have it with him. Even if it looked ridiculous.
Featuring:
- Rafi being cold. Poor guy.
- I had fun drawing those froggy heads! I love doing dumb stuff like that.
- Lagos blanket was kind of an afterthought. I was worried he might be cold.
- The Title is actually Schneeflöckchen, Weißröckchen, a popular Christmas/Winter song here in Germany
