They set up the arena. Three cards on each side, patterned black and white backs staring upwards. The first turn was another draw, bringing more laughter to Marron’s lips. The second, though, was his loss. He groaned good-naturedly and conceded his pile to the victor, among them the familiar smile of Minister Tristine.“Ah,” said Dusk. “That’s game.”
