Another work in progress. I still have to figure out what I'm gonna put to balance the image- possibly a landscape or ruined city or something near the bottom.
The two sides of Harley- and how she went from thinking Vinnie to be charming and thrilling to blaming him for the many years she spent in a prison camp, and her thirst for vengeance, despite the feelings she still obviously has for him.
I originally drew Vinnie in his Freedom Fighter outfit- but for some reason this half-turn pose was really hard for me to draw anatomy wise. I redrew him several times, and after laboring for sometime to get his buttcheeks perfect ( guy butts are hard to draw! ) I said, 'no way am I covering those babies up!' and put him in his tight-fitting jeans instead XD
Anyway, you know the drill. Characters don't belong to me. Art does.

LOL Β yeah, the 2006 series is pretty inferior compared to the 1993 original series. Β I know the director/producer had said they always wanted to do a rock opera episode and some of the songs in 'Turf Wars' were pretty good, but altogether it just didn't seem like a good fit. Β It could have been really awesome if they made the episode less silly/goofy and stuck to a more dramatic storyline and used really powerful progressive or symphonic metal but....... oh well. Β XD Β I know a lot of people felt let down simply because they had been wanting to find out what happened to Harley for so long, and when we finally got it, it just felt so underwhelming. Β
Personally, Vinnie and Charley all the way, and the director/producer said that 'Turf Wars' was meant to finally close the chapter on Harley. Β But I still like Harley a lot and I know a lot of people like to pair her with Vin

I would prefer a love triangle and Vinnie has to make the choice between the two of them. Kinda like Archie, Betty and Veronica.

I agree. I believe it would have been much more dramatic and satisfying to have Vinnie conflicted and in the end, having to choose between the girl he originally fell in love with, and the new girl who reminds him of what was once good in Harley. Β
But of course, the writers decided to kind of cop out and go the more kid-friendly route. Β Bleh.Β

I just love the way you drew Harley's hands, they're very expressive. Personally I can't stand the new series because of the plotline that doesn't make sense at times and the horrendous looks they gave our heroes... but that's beside the point, just wanted to say I need to see this piece finished
P.S. I'm happy to meet another BMFM fan who likes Road Rovers as well!

Oh, I am totally in agreement with you on the new series ( as I'm sure 98% of the fandom is ). In just a twisted, weird way, I can see Harley coming back, harboring a lot of resent and as bad case of Stockholm Syndrome... But definitely *not* the way it ended up being done. Β So that's why I kinda like to have my own version playing out in my head that you'll see depicted in my drawings or fanfics. Β But everything else in regards to the new series, no thanks. LOL
As for Road Rovers- I've been drawing them for the last 17 years, lol. Β Was part of the fandom for a long time. Β I still enjoy working with those characters and old OCs even after all these years, just like BMFM. Β Some cartoon-love is forever

Reminds me of an interesting thing I heard about the opposite of love not being hate, but instead being indifference, which is very true. Also it'll be interesting to see the problems Vinnie has with both Harley and Charley...love triangles, yay!

This is one of the places where the episode totally fell flat. They had a lot of potential for some deep drama involving emotions related to the love triangle. Uhhh... SPOILERS I guess, for anyone who reads further 
At the end of the episode Harley is seriously wounded and then disappears- whether she survives or not is up to interpretation. Regardless, a lot of potential was overlooked in the episode to flesh out a real emotional battle for matters of the heart. It almost felt like they kind of let Charley win by default by making Harley so psycho, that there's no possible way Vinnie could ever feel the same about her again.

Uhg yeah that does suck. Makes me think of an episode of Road Rovers where Hunter stops off to visit a dog, who Colleen thinks is a girlfriend. In reality though, it's his mother. But the part that I thought was done really well was when they dropped Hunter off and Colleen said a sad, quiet "goodbye" to him because she wants him to be happy. Of course the end of that episode gives me mixed feelings. It was funny but yeah XD

Oh, I love that episode, although I have to admit Colleen's feelings sort of came out of left field. In the series she is less a flirt, and more a 'if you got it, trot it' type. She tends to tease the boys more because she enjoys flustering them, and less because she is interested in them. So her sudden revelation of feelings for Hunter in the last episode seemed kind of forced, but I get the feeling the reason for that was that the writers already knew the show was ending and that they would have to hurry up and wrap up loose ends and plotlines. Otherwise, we probably would have seen a much more natural progression of feelings if the show had been allowed to continue past it's original season.
In Biker Mice from Mars, Vinnie and Charley's relationship develops realistically over an amount of time. From the very beginning he is trying to pick up on her, but she playfully shoots him down or pokes fun at his machismo. It isn't until episode 19 where the tide starts to turn, and in a fervent moment, she joyously throws her arms around his neck and gazes in a smitten manner into his eyes.

Yeah. Honestly I liked the dynamic between her and Blitz more, not so much as a romantic thing but the way she always teased him. Then usually Exile had to tell Blitz to stop being weird XD
