I can't take credit for the woodwork, but it is quite amazing. Have a look at the wooden bridge of Lucerne for something really quite amazing!

I love wood and I love medieval woodwork as it has no nails for the most part

Yes, that all wood construction is fascinating and holds up well has there are no nails to rust and give way! Fire, though, is always a threat . . .

I believe London was the proof of that statement

I've never seen such a bridge, the construction is really amazing. Do you know how old it is?

There are a number of covered bridges like this in Switzerland, the most famous being the one in Lucerne, which has partially burned down a number of times. I think that one might be 400 years old or more. But I have no idea of the age of the one in the photo, however I did find this regarding a different bridge in Laufen: Β www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WM… Β so my guess is that the bridge in my photo might date from that same time period of around 1689?Β

Thanks for the information, it's really impressing, a wooden bridge being that old!

Thanks! These are not uncommon here but they are susceptible to fire. But I do just love coming upon these little out-of-the-way treasures! Thanks for noticing the beam detail!

Oh wow you do not see many bridges like this over here in the UK. Β Beautiful shot and love the detail in the wooden beams.
