"AZUMI" stencil finished!!!...yaaaaaay
Took me a a couple of weeks to finish this piece.
Nearly amputated a tip of a finger and will never spray on cardboard again. Still learned a lot and improved my skills I suppose...all sweet.
Details:
- 1330 x 970 mm spray paint on cardboard
- total of 10 layers for background and front character
- acetate sheets A3 = 101
- copy paper A4 used = 194
- acrylics for blood splatter + marker for border

excellent work! I do agree with ~The Path about the kanji making the left side more bold. perhaps changing the color of them to a darker orange would even the balance? otherwise, fabulous! definitely needs to be a more permanent addition to your portfolio.

I am not up on exactly how you truly do stencil art,
but I have a good idea of the complexly and technical
aspects involved. So you get high props from me.
The name in Kanji (or is that hiragana...I can never tell)
make the illustration left heavy. It keeps pulling my hey
over to it due to the contrast (may be more of the light
glare on the top left corner though).
The figure ground relationship of Azumi is very well done.
I also like that the splatter brings your eye back to the
center with the sword bringing to the figure, creating a
tension point when they meet. Kinda would like to see
it on a card stock or a board with a mat finish.

I know stencils are considered "street art" but,....Canvas Canvas Canvas! That work is too good to be temporary!

thanks for commenting,mate..this thing will definitely go on my wall at some stage.just have to cut away the cardboard border and attach some hooks.
