My husband's Jeep Willie Truck...was his dad's before him.Done in 1985-1986. This is one of the old ones.
Painted from life before he started body work on it. Half finished, I was painting on this the day my water broke with our first child...it took me a year to finish it after that. And the following year I found myself pregnant with our daughter. The rest is just a blur, hmm.

Usually I can see the progress of an artist over the years. You just seem to have popped out of the womb with the knowledge you needed for your art.
My family has kept treasured vehicles long past sanity, then one day they rebuild them and the yard icon is gone.
I'm very impressed with this one. I think the detail on the road or drive under the truck is my favorite part.

mm, no....I was 29/30 when I painted it....we got married when I was 25 and waited 5 years to start our family...so I had had a couple decades there to play
and the road/drive was made up...it was sitting on sand and weeds....the trees are a little weird and surreal, they were going to be green, but I didn't want to hide the truck, so we get 'weird'

Exactly. I was scarcely gone two weeks and my parets had alread approprated and redesigned my room

and she's only coming home Christmas and sometime in the spring or summer...if we are here long enough I'm turning her bedroom into a studio with tube skylights and probably put a murphy bed in it and turn the current small studio into a guest room
