Aw man I wish we had one of those here I have to get all my pelts and such from ebay and what not. I really want a new coyote pelt to try and make into a plush taxidermy but I want to practice on like a squirrel or something first. x3

That would be cool. I dont have the experience to use the feet or heads, but I would use the main pelt and have it like fox size. Perhaps sculpt a fox out of the clay. Squirrel would be much better for starting. Or a rabbit like you used. I am not sure they have squirrel though. Could try something with a turtle shell too >.> or skulls.

Indeed. Ya know I was actually thinking about making a poseable doll like Vernan and somehow affixing it inside a turtle shell. I just so happen to have two really nice ones on hand I've been wondering what to do with. Only problem is I have no idea how to go about making it stay in the shell without a whole bunch of glue and prayer. x3

No idea :S Wish I could help. But wait! What about drilling tiny holes along the shell so you can thread a needle through to attach the fabric? That may work.
