Description
Although fall is just beginning it feels like winter to me already. I found this lovely pose and she immediately became the image of winter dancing forth to me in the form of the wonderful symbol of winter, the Snow Goose. So La Plume Blanche (the white feather) she became.

I love the precarious balance of her on one foot which reflects the precarious balance of the seasons and her graceful outstretched hands opening herself to her flight.
La Plume Blanche is made from paperclay with a strong wire armature. Her hair is shorn mohair and her dress is of silk, feathers and crystal flakes. She is securely balanced upon a granite base.
She is 7" high including her base and her arms stretch out to 11". She is anatomically correct.
