Description
The main malachite piece in this bracelet is the focal stone. At one time it was a rock, but after finding the rock I sliced it into slabs and cut, ground into shape, and polished this particular slice into a cab. The silver around the malachite was also design, cut, filed, sanded, and polished by me. After finishing the base I soldered a piece of bezel that would fit perfectly around the stone and then sealed the malachite cab into place.Related content

Thanks! It's a fun stone to polish. Hard enough to work with some decent pressure, but not too hard that I was at the wheel for an hour.

Cabbing stones is probably one of my favorite things to do jewelry wise. These mysteries just open up and appear to you. For me, when finding beauty in the rocks, I realize that there most definitely is a God. Guess it's sorta religious. But only God could create such great pieces of art in everything.

Um, it still is a rock! Slicing, cutting, grinding, and shaping doesn't change it into something other than a piece of rock.
