Description An old study of an unusual iris. The color combination was beautiful and yet I had a hard time capturing it with my camera, so I tried to do it in colored pencil. The scan is very close to the original work (on my monitor anyway).

I'm officially your fan! This Iris looks so delicate! I love your traditional art!

Haha, that smiley is so funny!

When I do those colored pencil drawings on paper, the details like the veins are the last thing that get put in with the very sharply pointed pencil. (And certainly with no "undo" option. LOL I'm loving my Painter and tablet for the "layers" and "undo"!!)

When you see this work in 'large' format, it's actually almost twice the size of the original.

Yeah I know when I use watercolor pencils the details always go in last... but I mean the entire shading and just everything with that picture lol It's just WOW lol that's the only word I can think of that doesn't even come close to expressing what's in my head lol

Hahahaha yeah I love Painter for that! Yay layers and UNDO! XD

I... don't even understand how that's feasible with pencils.

Hehehe. You wouldn't believe what some people used to say to my face: "Colored pencils can't do that." Well, no, pencils can't do that. But people can make them do pretty cool things.

Urgh, people are so stupid. Because they can't do it doesn't mean it can't be done.

Thank you. It does look like a photo especially when you see the thumbnail version, I think. I thought the veins and pin-dots were just so beautiful. And the poor bloom only lasts like 2 days at most.

I used to love drawing iris close-ups. I don't know why.
