Description Special gift for my friend and watcher We shared many crazy talks and he was always supporting me  
They are his OC - Zen-Urion leader of the lightning elementals and his daughter Glorissa

In 2010 I did commission with those two, sketch was on normal paper which I later transfered onto marker paper and did it in colors. Pencil sketch was waiting patiently for me to finish it one day, and that day came Made little changes but also wanted it to be similiar to original color piece Not all I could redraw 'cause sketch has 4 years and paper surface got little damaged and well my sketches I do with strong lines (hard to clean them later) xD

Wow.. They look so majestic. I love the way you did their hair and their hands look amazing! I'm jealous.. The colored piece is gorgeous too. The coloring is very smooth and nicely blended and the border is really neat. 

(I do hard lines too.. '_'- but what REALLY irritates me is when the paper starts wearing away. -_-#)
ps: how did you do the cloudy background in the colored one??

Yup I also hate when paper starts to wear away, but I just cannot learn how to do delicate sketches

Na tamtej o ile podoba mi się cieniowanie ubrań to na ich twarze nie moge patrzeć, w szczególności Zen-Uriona - wyszedl na jakiegos starego naburmuszonego dziadka, a w tej olowkowej to calkiem przystojnie mi wyszedl Zebym ja tak przystojnie moje OC'ki rysowala xD

no, rzeczywiscie, kolor pozmienial im rysy twarzy ;D 
Mnie troche przeszkadza nasycenie barw i bardzo kontrastowe cieniownie, w ołówku masz własnie ten odpowiedni łagodny balans  


A włąsne OCki nigdy nie chca wychodzic , to chyba regula xD

Mi sie marzy żeby ludzie zaczeli doceniać moje kolorowe prace też bo czasem wrzuce ołówkowego crapa wg mnie a ludzie wow itd a akwarela/marker nad ktorym długo siedziałam i mi sie bardzo podoba nikogo nie interesuje :<

WIesz... taka brutalna prawda, że ludzi guzik obchodzi ile nad czyms artysta siedzi :/
Ja np. niecierpie swoich digitali a wszyscy wow wow, a ołówkowe moje prace przechodzą praktycznie bez echa.

No i szczerze mowiac, twój ołówek wciąż jest wg mnie lepszy niż kolor. Nie we wszystkich pracach (bo np moja Nanae jest boska, patrye sobie na nia czesto bo mam ja nad kompem), ale tendencja własnie taka jest. Ale to tez chyba kwestia wprawy wydaje mi się. Moje kolorowe tradycjonale kiedys byly straszne xD A jest coraz lepiej pomalusku

Wydaje mi się też że ludzie częściej od Ciebie digitale zamawiaja niż traditionale. Mi sie chyba bardziej Twoje traditionale podobaja
No w ołówku wiecej tworzyłam niz w kolorze  bo do akwareli sie zraziłam dawno temu (teraz znowu je kocham) a markery jako że drogie są dosć pozno kupilam. Teraz mi az wstyd ze ich nie uzywam....sądze ze fakt iż nie bardzo sie komukowliwek moje markerowe prace podobaja tez ma wpływ ze nimi juz nie rysuje :/ No i markerami nie zrobie takich tel jak akwarela.

Nie zapominajmy też o  pewnej zasadzie pokazywania prac, ktora brzmi: "Jesli podoba ci sie to, co stworzyłaś, na 90% nie zostanie docenione przez odbiorców" xD

It is amazing how different a drawing and a colored version can look - they are both wonderful, but they are definitely different experiences!

Remember that there is also 4 years of difference between them I must admit that I prefer pencil version more - never liked how Zen-Urion face turn out in first drawing, he looked really grumpy (maybe 'cause of Varda xDD) and here...well it's most handsome guy I ever drew Also I like Glorissa face more - she is also less grumpy ^^ Didn't wnated to change their clothes a lot 'cause I know You liked those I designed in first pictures, just did little changes to make them more realistic
And I forgot about sparks from Zen eyes >.< Hope You will forgive me... I was like "don't forget about sparks...don't forget about sparks..." and then I forgot..when I was uploading and looked on old version remembered about those sparks...

Ah, thanks for the detailed explanation ...  it makes a lot of sense, and helps me appreciate the artwork even more!   

I changed emails about a year ago ... long story involving very bad customer service from my previous provider.  So I am now at almost the same address, but @comcast.net instead.  I will look forward to seeing the scan!  And thanks so much!

An artwork that didn't work the way you wanted it to isn't a failure, it's a learning experience.  You now know what those materials do a bit better than you did before, and next time you use them you will be able to control them better.
