Another illustration done in preparation for the launch of Africa's printed version!
Inspired by Aaron Blaise's paintings <3
I'm literally just back from handing in the files to the typography, and I couldn't be happier!
The printing is happening! And I mean now!
They told me I should get the first draft of the books on Monday!I'm ecstatic, but legit exhausted. I've been reworking on each individual page from the two chapters, adjusting and correcting things and adding bonus content and proofreading and turning the mass of files in my pc into a coherent book.
It took two full days of nonstop work, I don't think I even slept.
I had to put other things aside, including commissions, which I feel guilty for.
My back is hunched and I have all the headaches you can imagine. It was worth it.
I'm so satisfied and excited to bring this to you, you guys have no idea!
I'll keep you guys updated! In the meantime, enjoy this piece!

But in all seriousness, I think this is really good! I love how the light highlights his face and his spots and the dark shadows paired with the very noticeable teeth make him look mighty scary, but his highlighted spots and bright green-yellow eye also look kind of majestic!
