Description Fall is coming ... with all its colors, flavors and fruits! And well, right there in the woods I have seen little friends walking through the leaves. I must admit, I wish I would be a little bit smaller to walk with them ...

I started this painting last year in October after a wonderful walk through woods in the Valley Forge Park. I was truly impressed not only by the dimension of all things there: trees, leaves, ... but also by their strong colors.

After doing the drawing and adding some colors still there with the fresh impression in mind, back in Germany the painting had found a place in my stack of unfinished things and waited there months for a completion. It took me again 3 times to take on the work on this painting and bring it finally to an end. And believe it or not: the last ink was not yet dried when I cleaned up my painting stuff and when a series of ink splash found their way directly onto the painting ... argh ...

... it took some time to remove them (at least digitally) using Photoshop.

This is beautiful. I love the rightward slant of the trees and light rays - it gives the image a sense of dynamism and motion.

Thank you! I love to play around with light .. I thought it ended up a bit to much in this picture here ... but thanks!

Absolutely brilliant! It's great to see something new from you, my friend. Good recovery on the ink splash.

Thank you, James! It took some time to come back to that painting but at the end I was quite happy about the way it finally turned out. The ink splash was really challenging ...

I hate when ink splatters onto the paper, more so for me since I'm left handed! Probably why I stopped using it

Great picture nonetheless, I am happy you finished it!

It must have something to do with this very special painting. I lost yesterdays already some fine drops of red wine on it. They turned into purple until this morning but I managed to remove them with gesso.

Today, I took again tons of gesso to work the ink out ... I didn't know that it shines still through 2-3 gesso layers. Even through the thick ones.

At the moment I try to get a better scan of my "updated" painting.

Yeah, gesso tends to be a multi layer operation! but I bet the wine was good
