Description In which the artist finally caved and saw On Stranger Tides despite the complete lack of James, only to discover that not just one, but both of the Commodore's trusted lieutenants are sacrificed on the altar of background character body count,

OR

In which the definition of "young" is slightly stretched.

I really don't expect anyone to remember who these guys were, but thanks to a lot of fanfiction that probably shouldn't be my primary influence, I can't help but think of these guys as James' wingmen. The piloting kind, not the other kind. Their interactions were pretty much what prompted me to go back and watch Pirates again, this time paying attention to Norrington. I felt I owed them some kind of memorial.

Please forgive me if the 'death wounds' don't actually match up 100%. I only got to watch it once, and really didn't feel like watching them die multiple times.

Everyone here belongs to Disney. Referenced actors: Davenport, O'Hare, and Ellis (and sort of Depp).
James' book belongs to Agatha Christie, though. Little in-joke, there.

Petition for Groves and Gillette to have another cameo now that Story's gone and mucked things up. Β James could use some drinking buddies right about now.

(That, and I've recently become very attached to the Royal Navy dorks, particularly Theodore Groves. Β Please?)

Young is relative. They "died" younger than I am currently, so they died young. It's a sad fact of life.... Sigh.
The more you wake up, the older you get. (A very good reason to stay in bed and sleep in whenever possible.)

Ah Jack in the corner just cracked me up. Hey Johnny may be 50 by now, but he's still as awesome and hot as he was in his young years. Yes I am a hopeless Depphead and I'm proud of it.Β

Gerard Butler's Dracula was in the arc with the copies. He attacked Jareth. It was hilarious. If you want vampires, I suggest Lestat (again), Alucard, and Barnabas Collins. I can see horrible/funny craziness if Alucard showed up heheh. Especially if Control Art Restrictions were set at Level Zero! Well, before the manga ended anyway. Pretty sure Level Zero would be kinda boring now. Alucard is an ass. A scary, awesome, sexy ass, but an ass.

Turning 50 this year! Oh, yeah, he is my other god so yay Jack! I love the guy who's all Do you think he plans all this out? Or just makes it up as he goes along? I'm like the world may never know. And THAT! Was without a single drop of rum. *tear* Sparrow my love for you. Speaking of the ever so awesome Depp. . . Barnabas Collins anyone? I was waiting for a Depp vampire movie since I was ten! Good things come to those who wait. Just. If you do Collins please don't go Jonathon Frid on us. His looks are painful. And Ben Cross looks too much like Angel. *evilhateforAngelforbeinglame* Anyway. A thought. Depp as a vampire is just too wonderful.

You know, come to think of it, I don't think I have *any* vampires in this series. I haven't done vampire lit in ages...

Ha ha ha! Oh wow! According to the math you've done here, Johnny will be reaching the ripe old age of 50 soon. Well on his way to being the next Anthony Hopkins, or Anthony Head, he is, or else a contemporary of Robert Carlyle, who turned 50 in 2011.

JarethsSlave In reply to AnaxErik4ever [2014-02-21 14:37:11 +0000 UTC]

Johnny Depp, Anthony Hopkins, and Robert Carlyle. Β Three outstanding actors who prove being over 50 does not mean you are no longer sexy!

AnaxErik4ever In reply to JarethsSlave [2014-02-21 14:58:51 +0000 UTC]

Yup. Β Sexy is something that can happen at any age. Β It doesn't fade when your youth does. Β It's not a state of being; it's a state of mind.

I mean, Teddy was Jack's biggest fan!! He's hilarious!!! And Andy was just such a wonderful silly goob!! "You'll never make it out of the bay oh crap now there's a gun in my face-"

WHY IS BLACKBEARD SUCH AN ARSE?

Groves is the one who commented on Sparrow being the "best pirate he'd ever seen", and had a minor role in the rest of the films. Gilette made a snarky comment about mermaids to Elizabeth, and reappeared in the fourth film.
