It was scanned from a print, and quite frankly my scanner is a piece of crap. The noise in the sky is really just a result of the scan, I didn't notice it in the original print at all. The only thing I did in photoshop was adjusted the levels, which brought out a bit of extra brightness and definition.

I just meant that you always think that what's in your own backyard is less interesting than something 1000s of miles away. At least I know a lot of Aussies think this way - we feel so isolated from the rest of the world, travel is very important to us.
There are beaches just like this in the North of Australia, I've just never been there. The beaches near where I live are gorgeous, I know... but I guess I take them for granted.
