Description Closer look from the props what i made for my "Neo-Victorian costume".

First medal is my company logo from silver & copper, Skull medal is made from old zink keychain and that third one is made from real Finnish army badges from the 50's. (Ribbons are made from same fabrics what they use in real WW2-insignia.)

I also bought secondhand Swiss army glacier goggles from army surplus store, removed original black paint from the brass frames and made proper leather strap & brass buckle for replacing original black fabric ribbon.
Also the "pocket pistol" is a modification from Derringer shaped cigarette lighter what i buy in the mid nineties. Winged brass badge from that bowler is only a mix from old railroader cockade, ladies wristwatch frame and red glass cabochon.

Thanks for sharing!
One quick question though...what is that strange device sitting on the neck of the vest in the first picture?

It's my clockwork hand mechanism: [link] One on my oldest and also most complex steampunk projects from all these years.

Nicely done sir! I would like to ask though, the hand piece, what did you make that out of?

Thanks for adding this montage to your favourites.
I don't know if you mean the clockwork hand mechanism or my "wristwatch", but there you find more information from both of them: [link] - [link]

Nice to hear it. I also have one old WW2 medal waiting for next years steampunking-projects and it will look probably more complex than these.

I don't usually want to ruin any real antiques, but it have half of the original parts missing and most the surface is quite rusty, so there is not a lot of historical value left..

I feel the same way! No sense letting something rot and rust when you can actually get some good use out of it while decreasing its 'value'

These are impressive props and it shows that you put a lot of time and effort into them. I like that. They look great and create a wonderful costume.

Very nice to hear it. I have always been fan on small details & ornaments and it's sometimes quite difficult to keep the "wholeness" clean enough and not adding too much different things to it.
