This work is among the most original I've seen on DA. Really. I'm jealous of the perfect way you use watercolor!

it is watercolour on canvas with pastel on the top. The watercolour was not very good but I managed to rescue it with the pastel.

Very nice. My only criticism is that the head and neck seem a bit... off. If I had to guess, I would say that the neck is a bit too thick and short, especially on the bottom, and that the top of the cat's head is perhaps a bit too rounded. Then again, it may just be a different species than I am used to. Also, the cat's left shoulder (the right side being the one facing us) is abnormally large, which further distorts its shape. Generally, when my cats are walking, the shoulders don't rise enough to make an appreciable difference to the shape of the back. Other than that, it is quite nice. I especially like the simple color scheme and the pretty wrought iron fence.

thankyou very much for your critique, I will check my reference photo of the cat and reassess the points you have mentioned. Burmese cats do have short thick necks but the highlight I have put around the cat may be causing the problem, thanks again

Your capture of the light and shadow is stunning. The cat appears almost like a spirit, as they do, and makes a good contrast to the shadow of the railings.

The color contrast, along with the delicate pattern placement, makes for a vibrant touch. These attributes contribute to the greater sense of: atmosphere, scene, and mystery which, in turn, makes this piece wonderfully superb.
