LifeThe last 10 days where really hard. My grandfather who was very ill for the last 2 years - fell into a coma and is now on life support. The doctors say the chance he will come back are close to zero. Its my fathers dad, and you can imagine how devastated he is. I had many sleepless nights the last days - reflecting on life and family.
This drawing was so hard to draw, not technique but emotionally - i had to stop several times while drawing just to wipe off my tears - and even now while im typing this my eyes are tearing up.
I know its part of being alive to lose the people we love - but it really really hurts.
I share my whole life with art - and i wanted to share this with you : take care of your loved once - you cant know how long you have util one of your goodbyes is the last goodbye

This is one of those types art that makes you stop and think. One that you can't help but click on the thumb for a larger image. Such a powerful message that so many of us can relate to. Amazing work.

Keep strong man, just as the strength of this piece. It is indeed unfortunate we tend to reflect on life during times like these, then again, it's the only way to feel the true grit of it all and come out on top afterwards. Take care and I feel your pain as do as good as most of humanity out there... death = life = death.

May I please have your approval to get this piece or art inked. The message is strong and in my case my hand was grasped by my father, for the last time, at age 23. Now 29 and no day ends without one thought directed to a memory of him.
Such an apparent simple and small image, but such a strong emotion attached to it. It makes it so much larger and complex to those who actually see a face of a"man" walking next to the "kid".

May the Holy Spirit give you comfort in knowing that God is calling your grandfather home to eternal peace and happiness. I too lost my grandfather, to cancer no less, on my mothers side, so my heart truly goes out

I think anyone who has lost someone close to them can relate to this. I know I do
I lost my grandfather a few years back, and relatively recent my grandmother (his wife) who supported me with everything I did, and my aunt, who decided she wasn't needed anymore.
You've probably heard many similar stories already, but I needed to put it out here

Please send my condolences to your beautiful grandfather and your dad. I Know tragedy hits unexpectedly but remember there is always a spiritual component to life. In my opinion death is just one part of our spiritual path in life. I don't know your beliefs and if I am offending you please tell me but in my heart your grandfather will be in God's hands when he passes. Many times when a family member passes on they visit us when we grieve the most to comfort us. Trust me you and your dad will always have a piece of your grandfather in your hearts and that is what your Grandfather wants you to remember about him.

Personally, I feel I can really relate to this drawing. 2 months ago I lost one of my oldest and closest friends who died suddenly and unexplained in her sleep, and I can honestly say there is no pain like it. I've experienced death before in the family, but this is the first death that's really effected me, to the point where most nights are hard to face because that's when the memories and the regrets hit me and I end up crying myself to sleep. The next time you see your friends, give them a hug and tell them you love them. Tell them everything they mean to you and don't take them for granted because if you don't, you'll regret it for the rest of your life. Spend less time moping and more time being motivated to go and see people you haven't in a while and make memories.
One of the things that has helped me is making a scrapbook of Kat's life; realising how widely she was loved and how much she packed into her short 20 years on this earth. If more people lived their lives like she did, the world would be a better, happier place. We only have a short time, so make the most of it.

I feel the same... I drew something similar when my dad passed away one year ago. I wish you all the stenght to keep going on, cause this is the hardest part. But our loved ones who had passed over do not want us to suffer, that I'm sure of.
